Inquiries & Love Notes…
I welcome opportunities to create commissioned artwork for individuals, or professional organizations. My goal in accepting commissions is for the process to be both gratifying for me as an artist and pleasurable for those who have chosen to integrate my art into their living or working environment.
2-3 screen shots or jpegs of your favorite pieces of my work.
2-3 images of the room the piece will hang from various angles.
Paint chips, fabric swatches or inspiration images -- anything that helps illustrate and communicate your vision, and specifically your color palette.
Once we agree on style, color and size, you will sign a "Commission Agreement" that outlines this process, details of the piece and payment structure. I will then send you an invoice for a 50% deposit. The deposit and the signed Commission Agreement are due before work will begin.
I will work on your piece for about 4-8 weeks, unless you specify a deadline.
Depending on the size of the piece (under 60" x 60"), I will create 2-4 of the same styled pieces for you to choose from. Doing several pieces at once in the style, color & size you requested allows me to keep my process free or stress or force. The work always comes out better this way.
When I feel the pieces are ready, I will invite you to come view it in person for the first time (if you are local), otherwise I will send several images from many angles to capture the light & texture as accurately as possible.
At this point you and/or your client will choose their favorite piece. For extremely large scaled pieces (over 60x60) you and/or your client may request 1-2 edits on the finished piece.
Edits can only be minor, for example adding a bit more of a specific color.
Once the final piece is completed and/or chosen, I will invoice you for the balance due -- once received, I will ship or deliver your work.
If you are not satisfied with any of the finished pieces, or after 2 edits, or of your requested edits are too drastic or vague, no further edits will be made and you can use your 50% deposit towards any finished piece or print in my collection.

Artwork Care Instructions:
Do not touch the face of the painting or try to clean or dust the artwork with a cloth or any liquids. Many of my pieces are created with soft pastels which can smear or come off if heavily rubbed. The soft pastel has been sealed with a permanent fixative but any heavy brushing, touching or rubbing could possibly smear or remove the soft pastels. If the piece needs a light dusting, only use canned air as directed or a very delicate feather duster.
Do not string or wire. All canvas and framed paper pieces must be hung off of two points from the d-rings supplied on the back of the piece. Stretcher bars & frames are made of wood, and wood can warp with a change in humidity or temperature. Hanging from two points will help ensure the pieces remains square.
Do not hang in direct sunlight and expose to water.
Framing works on canvas. Canvases with a 2” deep edge do not require a frame, however for a polished look or for slim line canvases, I recommend a Floating Frame with a slim profile in white, natural, black, gold or silver.
Framing works on paper. I prefer my pieces be framed in a very simple gallery frame in white, natural, black, gold or silver. I recommend pieces with a deckled edge (the irregular, untrimmed edge of handmade paper) be “floated” above a pure white mat in a gallery frame. I recommend pieces with clean edges be traditionally matted in pure white in a gallery frame.
